FOUNDER

Darwin (Yoel) Burks is a dedicated resident of South Metro Atlanta, a US Army reservist (1990-96) and a seasoned business owner with over twenty-five years of experience. He is the loving husband of Shontel Burks and proud father of two adult children. Yoel holds a BS degree in Network & Communications Management and is an IBM Master Technology Instructor, Systems Consultant, Music DJ, and passionate advocate for homeless & low-income communities.

Since 2016, Yoel and his team of volunteers have been serving the homeless population of Atlanta, both independently and in collaboration with other community organizations. In 2022, Abba-YAH (God) guided the outreach efforts to expand and include low-income communities, leading to the creation of YOEL HELPS.

YOEL HELPS offers a variety of activity-based engagements, including youth day camps, business and personal development courses, onsite concerts, health fairs, neighborhood clean-ups, elderly care, and more. These initiatives have fostered enriched relationships within the communities they serve, providing opportunities for ministry, job training, healing, and impactful community engagement for YAH's glory.

The mission of YOEL HELPS is to make a positive, kingdom-focused impact on countless communities by partnering with like-minded community servants. Together, they aim to serve those in need by providing career-based opportunities through skills learning, leadership and entrepreneurial training, youth mentoring, and community connection.
